Giant Forest, Sequoia National Park, California

When ever we get a chance to visit a forest, we do so, as a religious observance. The experience is completely palpable. We decided to make a trip to the big trees in Sequoia National Park We headed out and climbed into the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

It was a beautiful day
National Parks are such a gift.
Senior Parks Pass is great

The target of the trip

We headed to Three Rivers. Edie had found us a quaint little place. Actually more odd than quaint. Our room was on the highway side and actually hung a little over the highway. Every car that passed seemed to travel through our room..
One of the best finds in town was this sandwich shop. It was fantastic.
They had picnic tables overlooking the river.
After a nearly good night’s sleep we visited the local museum after breakfast.
All you would expect
Mining, lumber, homesteading…
And Walt Disney. I guess he wanted to put a resort here and the community fought against it and won.
