La Brea Tar Pits

When we invited Larry and Renee to join us, Renee told us the tar pits and Getty had been on her list for a long time. We decided to do the tar pits in the morning and the Petersen auto museum in the afternoon. They are a two block walking distance from each other, with the Los Angeles County Museum of Modern Art (LACMA) in between. We found parking on the street and went to the La Brea.

After over an hour in the car, we made it.

Apparently, if they don’t fence it off, the process of capture by tar would continue to this day.
The big trap
I used to watch George Page on Nature and admired his work.
Toys for sale in the gift shop
Renee reads every placard on every display. Even when I try to rush her along.
Lots of displays
Saber tooths had to be frightening. I saw an uncaged tiger once and it scared me good. I can only imagine seeing one of these guys with a stare locked onto you.
wow
Nature is so cruel
The fossil lab. Volunteers have to stay for 8 hours.
The same ones from Game of Thrones, I think.
I guess that they could not resist creatures trapped in the tar.
