December 8th to 10th, 2018
My last weekend in Lodi for the year. Travel plans prevent me from helping more. Finding help is difficult for Maureen. Most want full time work. Part time and on weekends is not as attractive. The care giver has to be big and strong, able to lift Don from bed to chair and back again. A new Hoyer lift helps, but Don is not always able to cooperate, so the help has to be strong. Maureen is strong and her personality fills the room but her height is not great. She has help that sometimes is available, but not reliably so. She has one full time person that works days, Monday through Friday, a very caring and thoughtful woman that can move Don around without a problem. Don has been sleeping a lot these days.
