Lost day in Atlanta – 2/21/2017

February 21, 2017 (Tuesday)

Michael got up and had breakfast downstairs. I opted to sleep. When he got back up to our room he told of meeting a really nice man who was dressed really nice. He said they got to talking and this man works as a Representative at the State Capitol. His name is Dexter Sharper.

Georgia State Representative 177th District Dexter Sharper

He had just met with John Lewis the day before and Michael told him he was jealous. He showed Michael a picture he had taken with Congressman Lewis and Congressman Sanford Bishop.

He then gave Michael his phone number and told him to call when he got into the Capitol. Fun.  I love when that happens.

We left the room and got into the car – drove off only to discover we had a FLAT TIRE! So bummed. We pulled into the very next driveway and decided to call AAA. Michael emptied everything to get to the spare and there was no spare. Just some goo and a little electric compressor. We decided to have AAA tow us to a tire repair place. The wait was over an hour. I left and walked back to the room and Michael stayed with the car.

He had it towed to Walmart Tire Center, hung around for the fixing of the tire, and then ran several errands before coming back home.

Real nice guy towed me to Walmart about 6 miles away.
What an irritation. The tires are original to the car. We’ve got over 86,000 miles and the tires have a lot of tread left. I think we will get more than 110,000 miles on these. We rotate them diligently. They came with a 12,000 mile warranty.
Nice crew in here. Turns out we picked up a nail in the center of the tread and totally repairable, $10.00
Interesting murals while I was running errands.
Art imitating graffiti.

He didn’t get home until late afternoon. Thus the lost day. We were grateful it didn’t happen on the road someplace where we didn’t have cell service.

That was our day. Hope yours was great!
