Tusayan, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada 3/29/2014
MARCH 29, 2014 (Saturday)
Comfortable bed and a pretty decent hotel, but pricey ($119.00 a night). We were so looking forward to a timeshare home again. We really like having our own space and more televisions than you can get in one hotel room.
Our drive today was from Tusayan, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada. It was approximately 250 miles and took a little over four hours. We stopped once for gas and snacks in Kingman, Arizona ($3.40 gallon).
We enjoyed the drive but we are all so tired of daily moving. We’re ready to settle down for a whole week. We didn’t do any detours. We almost pulled over in Kingman for an In N Out. That was the first one we’ve seen and we are all hungry for it. Love In N Out.
When we got into Las Vegas, we decided to drive down the strip. Could not believe how crowded it is. Have never seen it that busy. So many fun characters out trying to get tips by taking pictures with them (the Hulk, Sponge Bob, Darth Vader, etc.). The traffic was so bad that it took over half an hour to get down to the Pawn Stars area of the strip. We were glad to finally get out of it and try to find a local In N Out. We found one and thoroughly enjoyed our food.
We got to our resort, Grandview, and checked in. The line was long and it took quite awhile to get checked in. Afterwards we had to go to the “parking” people. There we were asked to go to a no time, no obligation meeting. We told them we had absolutely no intention of buying. They said no problem. We signed up and we’re going to get tickets to one of the Cirque De Soilel shows for going. Works for me.
We got up to our home and it’s lovely. One of the best we’ve been in (comparable to Ocean Walk). The only down side is you have to buy internet here at $49.95 per device. Ouch. We’re sharing so when one gets off the internet, one gets on. The home has a washer/dryer (yea!) and is quite modern and lovely. Lexi’s side is just as big and beautiful, if not more so. She has a full kitchen and washer and dryer too. We are going to enjoy our home, I can tell. We are looking forward to seeing Jim and Anna tomorrow (Michael’s brother and wife). They are flying in from Oregon.
That was our day. Hope yours is great!
