Michael here, Edie has taken a day off.  Wow, this year is slamming to a close, New Year’s is upon us! Busy year, fairly quiet day. We slept in late this morning. Mostly because I got sucked into watching Breaking Bad on AMC. They are having a marathon. It is a compelling storyline. I have it playing in the background as I write.  I watched it until 1 AM last night.

Lex did her laundry today, Edie and I went out exploring. We gassed up the little beastie first ($3.36 gallon).

We then went to the Peace Officer Hall of Fame and Memorial. It is $15.00 per adult to get into the museum. With AAA and retired peace officer status, it brought the total for both of us to $6.50. There are museum quality displays that include old cars, motorcycles, guns, methods of execution, shoulder patches, and almost any equipment you can imagine. The center of the building is a memorial dedicated to the slain in the line of duty officers. All the names are carved in marble slabs that cover the outer wall and inner wall. So many have died in the line of duty, it is sobering to see the memorial. I found the name of a friend that was murdered at San Quentin in 1994, Sergeant John (Hal) D. Burchfield. He was a good man. It is a very nice facility.

We went across the way to the Astronaut Hall of Fame. We went in and found it was $23.00 per person and Edie locked up. It seemed a high entry fee and she is just not that interested in space. I resolved next time we are in the area I will drop her off at a movie and I will do the space center and hall of fame.

We left there and went to the Warbird Museum. Edie elected to wait in the gift shop or car, I went through. Sure took me back to the the 1970’s and my time in the Army. Reminded me of our tour at the Hill Air Force Base.  This Museum had planes from every branch of service but was smaller. No blackbird, but overall interesting.
