SEPTEMBER 12, 2013 (Thursday)

Had breakfast with brother John at Shari’s. Michael had a Denver omelette, John had his usual, and I had a spinach, mushroom, avocado omelette. All very good.

At breakfast Michael was telling John that he intended to buy a video camera.  So typical of John, we got home and he gave us his that he never uses.  We protested, he insisted.  It is a great little camcorder that takes stills as well.  We used it today but now don’t have a way to upload the pictures to the laptop.  Michael will go to Fry’s tomorrow and get the necessary cords.  He will add pictures tomorrow – DONE.After breakfast we came back to brother John’s house and just vegged for awhile, reading and watching television. Later in the afternoon, Lexi came by and she and I went shopping.  (Michael and John stayed at John’s place to do guy things.)  Still looking for her some pants for the road. I found some for me, but not for her. Can’t afford the kind she really wants, Miss Me’s, which are over $100 a pair. Yuck. After shopping we picked up a pizza order that Michael had called in to Padington’s Pizza. When we are in town, it’s almost a tradition to get Padington’s Pizza. So good, thin crust, excellent!

If ever in Salem, this is the place!

Gold Digger. We don't think they put any sauce on the crust. It is beyond delicious.

Humdinger. Maybe a very small amount of sauce on this one and a super thin crust. Edie calls it a cracker crust. This is our favorite!

Around 6:30 PM, Lexi, Michael and I left and drove to Safeway to get some cookies. Then we went to Paula and Benjamin’s house for a quick visit and hugs. Paula and Benjamin are niece and nephew.

After the very short visit, we walked across the street and got a nice visit in with dear friends Bobbie and Terry. They are a hoot and lots of fun. Terry has gone back East every year for the last several years to be Santa Claus.

Beautiful old hand blown bottle, I think wine. Terry says he got it at a garage sale for $40. It has dimples, bubbles, no seam, really neat.

It is now 9:30 PM and we’re back at brother John’s house, full as tick bugs and tired, but glad we got to see our family and friends.

That was our day. Hope yours was wonderful!
