Defending the Caveman – Las Vegas, Nevada 6/16/2013

JUNE 16, 2013 (Sunday)

Happy Father’s Day!

Well, we didn’t make it to the Bellagio last night. I was too tired and went to bed early and didn’t get up until Michael bellowed for me to come and join him, yelling, “it’s Father’s Day, I want company!”  I couldn’t refuse so I got up a little earlier than I would have liked. I was even nice about it and didn’t give him a bad time. I hope he appreciates his Father’s Day present cause that was it.

We lazed around, had our lunch (peanut butter, banana and jelly sandwiches) and then decided to head out to go see “Defending the Caveman”. We got to Harrah’s at about 2 PM and went up to the box office. We got our tickets from the paperwork Michael had bought on Ebay. We got two VIP tickets (that included two t-shirts) for $37.50. I think he did good. The marked price was $49.99 per ticket and the t-shirts were $15. each. After getting our tickets, we sat in the massage chairs for a little bit and then headed down to the Improv Theater.

I could have sworn I was smiling for this picture! No wonder she calls me a grumpy old man!

The lady at the front said they were having “technical difficulties” and were going to be a little late. We figured someone didn’t show up. Anyway, we went and did some gambling (lost, bummer) and then headed back up. People were being seated by this time and we were taken to our table very close to the stage. Very nice seats. The show was much better than I thought it would be.  All the comedy revolves around men as hunters and women as gathers.   This is something Michael had been wanting to see forever and I was just gonna go because I had to, it’s Father’s Day. I enjoyed it. Fun.

The Improv, have seen it on TV many times.

After the show we walked over to the Bellagio. We were able to see the fountain going as we were walking to it. Elvis Presley was playing Viva Las Vegas. We were going to have dinner overlooking the fountains but it was soooo expensive.

Sound and motion are the art of the Belliago fountains. The still camera will never do justice to the show.

Edie did her best, you really need to see it in motion, with sound, at least.

We walked and walked and ended up across the street near the Miracle Mile Mall. We ate dinner at Cabo Wabo. It was okay, not great. The best part was we got to see the fountains while we ate.

After eating we went into the shops to try to cool off. We asked something and were escorted to a timeshare kiosk. We told them we weren’t going to buy, they said that was fine. Long story short, we’re going to a presentation for Westgate tomorrow. We’ll see what it’s all about. Always want to learn about all these so….plus we’re going to get $75.00.

On our walk back to the parking lot, we got to see the fountains again. This time Josh Groban was singing in Italian. Beautiful. I was so pleased that two of my favorite singers were the ones singing with the fountains while we watched them. Fate? Who knows but I loved it.

That’s it for this old girl for today. Having my diet coke and getting ready to put my pj’s on. Hope your day was wonderful! Masterpiece Theater is on tonight.
